Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 pound unsweetened chocolate
  • 3 pounds brown sugar
  • 1/4 pound butter
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla

  1. Put brown sugar, milk and chocolate in a saucepan.  Heat just long enough until a medium ball can be formed, stirring frequently.  Remove from heat.  
  2. Add butter, vanilla and salt.  Beat until stiff.  
  3. Pour into a buttered 13×9 inch pan (or cookie sheet).  
  4. Cut into 2-inch squares.
