Ingredients:

  • 1 package plain brownie mix (not one with syrup)
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:

  1. Prepare brownie mix as directed on the package. 
  2. Pour into greased 13×9-inch baking pan. 
  3. In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth.  Mix in sugar until blended. 
  4. Add egg and vanilla; mix just until blended. 
  5. Pour cream cheese mixture over brownie batter; cut through the batter with a knife several times for marble effect. 
  6. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35-40 minutes or until cream cheese mixture is lightly browned. 
  7. Cool.  Cut into squares.
