Incorporate a touch of family tradition with Mama’s Giblet Gravy. This hearty gravy, enriched with diced boiled eggs and celery, adds a flavorful layer to your Thanksgiving feast. It’s a cherished recipe passed down through generations.
Ingredients:
- 2 cans (14.5-oz each) chicken broth
- water
- 1/2 cup flour
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 boiled eggs, chopped
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- ~1/2 cup shredded and chopped turkey meat (you can boil turkey neck and giblets or chicken breast for meat and broth if you’d like)
Directions:
- Pour broth into a large sauce pan on the stove on medium high heat; using one of the broth cans, add two cans of water. Mix broth and water.
- With a wire whisk, blend in flour until smooth. (You might put a bit of the broth and the flour in a shaker and shake until smooth before adding to pan.)
- Add remaining ingredients. Stir as gravy cooks; mixture will begin to thicken. Bring to a boil; continue boiling for one minute.
Keep warm until ready to serve.
