Ingredients:
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cups sugar
- 1/2 t. salt
- 4 t. baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups raisins
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. milk
Egg wash:
- 1 egg
- 1 T milk
Directions:
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Whisk together flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.
- Gradually mix in raisins so they are evenly distributed.
- Add butter in small cubes and mix in with a pastry blender until evenly blended.
- Whisk together eggs and milk in a separate bowl. Gradually stir into flour mixture to form a dough.
- Drop 1/2 c. scoops of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Mix egg and milk for egg wash. Brush on top of each scone.
- Bake for 20 to 23 minutes or until lightly golden.
Serves 4-6.
