Start your day off right with this Cinnamon and Raisin French Toast recipe. With a warm and comforting blend of cinnamon and raisins, this dish is sure to satisfy your cravings and keep you cozy all day long. Top it off with an easy homemade raisin syrup for an extra special touch!

Ingredients:

  • 1 (16-ounce) loaf of raisin bread, sliced
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Nonstick cooking spray or butter

Syrup

  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 (8-ounce) bottle of pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions:  

  1. In a large mixing bowl, mix together eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla with a whisk until the eggs are incorporated into the mixture well.
  2. Spray a griddle with nonstick cooking spray or melt 1 teaspoon of butter on the griddle and spread it around.
  3. Dip one slice of raisin bread at a time into the egg mixture until both sides are coated with the egg mixture. Place on griddle and cook until brown on both sides.
  4. Place on an ovenproof platter and place in a warm (200 degrees F) oven until you finish the remaining French toast.
  5. In a saucepan mix raisins, syrup, and cinnamon together. Heat until bubbles form around the outside of the pan. Drizzle syrup over warm French toast.
