Ingredients:

  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons (5 ounces) gin (ideally Hendrick’s)
  • 1 tablespoon (1/2 ounce) dry vermouth
  • 2 tablespoons green olive juice (from the jar of olives)
  • 1 tablespoon caper brine (from jar of capers)
  • a crack of fresh black pepper
  • 6 large green olives (Castelvetrano are so good!)

Directions:

  • Place crushed ice in a cocktail shaker.
  • Add gin, vermouth, olive juice, and caper brine.
  • Shake until the liquid is cold and the sides of the shaker have condensation, about 30 seconds.
  • Strain mixture into 2 martini glasses. Add 2-3 olives to each glass and crack pepper on top (if desired)

Makes 2 martinis.
